  • Step 2:

    We'll consult with you on cuts, choose your processing date, and answer any questions you may have.

  • Step 3:

    You'll pay your remaining balance if there is one & schedule your shipping.

  • Step 4:

    You're notified that your beef has shipped & will be delivered to your door for you to enjoy!

    **Beef is shipped on Dry Ice either 2nd day air or over night. The Dry Ice will ensure it remains frozen up to 4 days.

We are the Johnson family & I'm Shane. We're committed to providing you beef you can trust, and we do things the old way.

We ethically raise our cattle in humane conditions in open grass pastures with ample access to water & salt. This allows the cattle to express their instinctive behavior instead of restricting them to muddy over crowded pens or feed lots. We do everything on horseback, not atv's or side by sides to not startle or upset the cattle.

Our ranch is run using regenerative farming practices, working WITH the land instead of taking advantage of it.

Why Grass Fed Grain Finish?

Most beef producers don't give you the full story when raising their beef. Here at Walking J Ranch we like transparency & that's why we tell you our beef is Grass Fed & Grain Finished.

Yes we love letting our cattle roam the pastures eating all the grass they can, but in the last few months before processing we slowly transition them to Non GMO grains to "finish" them off.

This allows for a savory, robust, rich, beef taste. It gives your beef that fat content that makes your beef taste great.

Grass fed Grass finished produces lean beef that can taste a bit gamey. So despite the labels you see at the grocery store that say "Grass Fed" Almost always they are Grain finished.
